A Crocheted Baby Blanket

My beautiful friend Cindy and I have been friends since 3rd grade. THIRD grade! That's over 20 years! She has been a constant source of support, encouragement, and love to me and I couldn't imagine my life without her. She recently had a baby boy, Jackson, who is the cutest thing I've ever seen, and I cannot WAIT to meet him. I'm counting down the days until Febuary 22nd when I'll head down to NC to smother him for the whole weekend.

I have been crocheting like a mad woman lately. It seems as though I can't sit idle anymore while watching tv, so I crochet and watch. At least I'm being somewhat productive. And getting a hand workout.

I made this colorful, soft baby blanket for Mr. Jackson. I used the back loop single crochet stitch which was super easy and creates a bit of a ripple on the blanket. I used a size K crochet hook, Vanna's Choice Baby Yarn, and chained on 130 stitches to start. I made a cute little border with grey yarn and was done! It took me about a week and a half, not bad at all!

Doesn't he look so adorable and warm??
